Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

Owner of Custer Therapy, LLC

Welcome to Custer Therapy!

I’m Kristen Custer, and I’m honored to offer therapeutic services to individuals struggling with anxiety. Through my personal journey with anxiety and practice as a therapist, I discovered my passion for helping other anxious individuals find relief and live their life to the fullest. While anxiety is a normal human experience, there are levels and intensities that overwhelm our resources and alter our functioning.

I primarily treat conditions of anxiety, however, many individuals have other symptoms, stressors, or psychological problems occurring with anxiety. Therefore, I additionally provide therapy to those experiencing depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and trauma-related disorders.

I am committed to maintaining inclusivity and leading an anti-racist practice. I adhere to trauma-informed care, cultural awareness, and provide safe, allied space for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals. I primarily use techniques from Psychodynamic, Feminist, & Client-Centered therapies. As needed, I will pull techniques from cognitive-behavioral practices as well. My goal is to relieve suffering through understanding your unique experiences and functioning, why you are experiencing your symptoms, and how I can support your growth.

In addition to therapy services, I also offer anxiety intensives, supervision to LGPCs, and community- or practice-based presentations.

I highly value expanding my knowledge and skillset, so I am frequently seeking learning opportunities to strengthen my abilities to support clients and provide competent services. Due to my love for learning and motivation to grow my expertise, I am currently a doctoral student and spend much of my free time dedicated to my studies! In my remaining spare time, I’m often reading, snuggling my dog, or dreaming up my next travel destination.
